10) Get up 10
“Went from making tuna sandwiches to making the news,
I started speaking my mind and tripled my views”
A strong opening song to her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, “Get Up 10” Cardi B bursts through the door; introducing herself the world.
9) Best Life (feat.Chance the rapper)
“Ain’t no more beefing, I’m just keeping to myself
I’m my own competition, I’m competing with myself”
With an assist in the form of a catchy hook from Chance the Rapper, Cardi reminds us to ignore the haters. A light and playful beat sprinkled with the right about of “skrt” ad libs- this is an enjoyable track off the album.
8) Ring (feat.Kehlani)
“The ring on my phone, ring on my finger,
You actin’ like you ain’t tryna do either”
One of my favorite features on the album. Bay Area R&B songstress Kehlani provides the hook that you can’t help but sing along to. Cardi’s double entendre reminds us of the problematic romantic situations in life.
7) She Bad (feat.YG)
“Balenciaga momma, I know you heard about her
Spoil me in Prada, I’m worth every dollar”
I don’t have much to say here. But if listening to this doesn’t make you feel like twerking then you are the definition of a party pooper.
6) I Like It (feat.Bad Bunny & J Balvin)
“Flexing on bitches as hard as I can
Eating halal, driving the Lam”
One of my personal favorites, we get two heavy hitter features from Reggaeton superstars: J Balvin and Bad Bunny. I’m sure I’m not the only person that has jammed out to this in my car. Cardi brings out the latin flavor making it the ideal summer tracks.
5) Red Barz
Back from her mixtape days, this song is straight fire from beginning to end. I couldn’t even pick a specific line I like best that’s how good this is. Raw from beginning to end this may be Cardi’s best verse to date.
4) Finesse (remix) Bruno Mars (feat.Cardi B)
“My big, fat ass got all them boys hooked
I went from dollar bills, now we poppin’ rubber bands”
As one of Cardi’s first notable mainstream features, a rare PG-13 verse from your favorite Dominacana from the Bronx. A funky throwback tune from Bruno Mars and Cardi are a match made in heaven in the form of this radio hit.
3) Bodak Yellow
“Dropped two mixtapes in six months
What bitch working as hard as me?”
Ah yes, you knew this song was going to be somewhere on this list, right? As the top YouTube comment says “This song makes me want to rob my own bank account”. This classic from Cardi B will stay etched into our memories.
2) No Limit – G Eazy (feat.A$ap Rocky & Cardi B)
“Can you stop with all the subs?
Bitch I ain’t Jared
If you really want some smoke
You can pull up, you can get it”
My opinion, Cardi B’s best feature. While I am not a fan of wannabe gangster G-Eazy, Cardi B saves this song and then some. Her first major feature and she kills it from beginning to end.
1) I Do (feat.SZA)
“Leave his texts on read, leave his balls on blue
Put it on airplane mode so none of those calls come through”
Ah yes so here we are, the about curving dudes. I ought to not like this song because it’s an ode to what girls do to me all the time. SZA couldn’t have been a better person to sing this chorus with her sultry vocals. Braggadocious at its best, Cardi B and SZA create an anthem for the ladies who curve men with ease. Hands down my favorite Cardi song, and throw in SZA over that? holy crap, this song leaves me wanting more.
